Faculty of Arabic Language in Cairo - Al-Azhar University - Boys Faculties
The study began in the college on the second of Dhu al-Hijjah 1351 AH corresponding to 28/3/1933.
In 1927, a committee was set up to establish the laws of the establishment of the Faculty of Arabic Language, composed of the following scholars: Mr. Abdel Fattah Sabri Bek, Mr. Mohamed Bahi El Din Barakat, Sheikh Ahmed Haroun, Sheikh Mohamed Ashour and Mr. Mohamed Khaled Hassanein Bek, / Mohamed Mustafa El Maraghy and issued its new law on 18/10/1928.
In the era of the Grand Imam Muhammad al-Ahmadi al-Zawahiri, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the royal decree was issued for the opening of the three colleges: Arabic language and the fundamentals of religion and Sharia in 1930.
The Grand Imam Sheikh Mohammed Mustafa Al Maraji Sheikh Al-Azhar and Sheikh Ibrahim Hamroush received the first Sheikh of the College of Arabic Language His Majesty King Fuad I of Egypt; to officially open the college, and with them a group of scientists and senior guests and officials, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the second and third of Dhul Qa'da 1351 AH Corresponding to the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth of March 1933.
The study was conducted at the Faculty of Arabic Language in Cairo in its building in the district of Al-Baramouni. It then moved to the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif neighborhood in its present building. The architect was supervised by an Italian engineer, and Al-Azhar University allocated a university place in Nasr City.
The Department of History and Civilization was established in this college since the promulgation of the Al-Azhar Development Law in 1961 to study the branches of history and civilization. The Press and Information Division was also established. It has three people besides the Department of History and Culture and the General Division. These three people are studying in the four years in order to obtain a high degree of leave (Bachelor's degree) and then take place in each of the postgraduate studies for the stages of specialization (Masters), and the World (PhD).
The Institute of Languages and Translation was established, and the Arabic Language College continued to sponsor it until now it became an independent college: the Faculty of Languages and Translation.
