The Faculty of Education in Damietta was established in 1976 under the Republican Decree No. 1142 of 1976, and was then affiliated with Mansoura University. It continued its extension to Mansoura University until the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 19 of 2012 concerning the establishment of Damietta University as an independent university.
